KATHMANDU, JUL 09 - Nepal slipped two places down to 185th position in the latest Fifa world rankings published on Thursday.
In the latest rankings made public by the apex football governing body, Nepal lies at the bottom of the ranking among the South Asian countries. Afghanistan secured 134th position moving up 17 places. India fell 15 places down to reach 154 along with Bhutan in 166th position after descending 7 places followed by Bangladesh at 169th position and Pakistan in 172nd position.
Meanwhile, Maldives climbed up two places and secured the 176th position and Sri Lanka secured 183rd position ascending 3 places.
Likewise, Argentina topped the Fifa rankings despite losing to Chile on penalties in the final of the Copa America, followed by Germany, Belgium, Colombia and Netherlands.
Similarly, Brazil held on to 6th position with Portugal in 7th and climbing four places, Romania placed itself on the 8th position.
England registered in 9th place securing a spot in the top 10 after maintaining their 100% record in Euro 2016 qualification following a 3-2 win in Slovenia in June.
Meanwhile, Wales achieved their highest Fifa world ranking, entering the top 10 for the first time.
