GORKHA, - Former Prime Minister and UCPN (Maoist) leader Baburam Bhattarai has remarked that a national government would be formed immediately after the promulgation of new constitution.
Talking to journalists here at his home-district Gorkha on Thursday, Bhattarai said the new constitution would be announced within the current Nepali month of Ashad (mid July).
“There may be a delay of one or two day. But if no incident beyond our control takes place, the new constitution will be promulgated by the end of Ashad,” said leader Bhattarai, who arrived here to meet the victims of recent earthquakes. He said the constitution drafting committee would table the first draft of the constitution by June 28.
He said the constitution will be announced after discussions for few days and collection of public views once the first draft is tabled. He added that the constitution is being released after forging agreement among the agitating parties. “Rest assured the new constitution will be tabled,” he said.
But no deal has been forged regarding power sharing in the national government to be formed after the constitution, he claimed.
Leader Bhattarai also conducted a meeting of rehabilitation committee of Gorkha-1. He had handed over 210 tents to Disaster Rescue Committee coordinator Uddav Timilsina for schools.
